Monday 10 May 2010: Peter Schrag/Belle Yang
On 10 May I talked with former Sacramento Bee editor and columnist Peter Schrag about his new book Not Fit for Our Society:Immigration and Nativism in America (University of California Press). I previously talked with him about Paradise Lost: California's Experience, America's Future (unfortunately not recorded) and about California: America's High-Stakes Experiment on 1 May 2006.

UC Press has also recently published The Wind Doesn't Need a Passport: Stories from the U.S.-Mexico Borderlands by Tyche Hendricks. Schrag and Hendricks will be appearing together several times to promote their books.

I then talked with Belle Yang, who has written illustrated books for both children and adults, about her graphic memoir Forget Sorrow: An Ancestral Tale (W W Norton).

You could call this the Immigration Program.
