On 14 September I talked with English biographer Richard Holmes about his new book The Age of Wonder: How the Romantic Generation Discovered the Beauty and Terror of Science (Pantheon). I then talked with University of North Carolina at Charlotte Professor of Anthropology Jonathan Marks about his recent book Why I Am Not a Scientist: Anthropology and Human Knowledge (University of California Press).
Two other excellent recent popular science books I would have liked to have featured if I'd had more time are Physics for Future Presidents: The Science Behind the Headlines ( W W Norton) by UC Berkeley Physics Professor Richard A Muller and 13 Things That Don't Make Sense: The Most Baffling Scientific Mysteries of Our Time (Vintage) by English science writer Michael Brooks.
