On 7 January I talked with two authors about the rediscovery of an almost completely forgotten woman and an almost completely forgotten tree.
I first talked with Linda Colley, Shelby M C Davis 1958 Professor of History at Princeton University, about her recent book The Ordeal of Elizabeth Marsh: A Woman in World History (Pantheon), which the New York Times Book Review listed as one of the ten best books of 2007.
I then talked with freelance science writer Susan Freinkel about her recent book American Chestnut: The Life, Death and Rebirth or a Perfect Tree (University of California Press).
