On Monday 14 July, we discussed the upcoming celebration of the legacy of Josiah Royce with Nevada County Librarian Steve Fjelsted. Royce, who was born on the location of the current Grass Valley library in 1855, became an internationally-known philosopher, teaching at Harvard along with C S Peirce, William James and George Santayana, and the author of the first book-length history of California by a native.
