On 1 October I talked with Chinese filmmaker and writer Guo Xiaolu about A Concise Chinese-English Dictionary for Lovers, the first novel she has written in English, which was recently published by Nan A Telese/Doubleday. I couldn't get through to her on the studio line and wound up talking to her over my computer. The connection was so-so and my questions were worse. She's a very talented writer and her novel is charming. I hope to do her justice in the future.
I then talked with Nevada City lepidopterist Michael C Collins about his recent book Moth Catcher: An Evolutionist's Journey Through Canyons and Pass (University of Nevada Press).
At the end of the program I mentioned two notable upcoming events:To hear this program, click here.
