Booktown has been pre-empted for a KVMR membership drive and will not air today.
I will be out of town until 15 March. I have pre-recorded two programs which will air on Monday 19 February and Monday 5 March. They are available online if you can't wait that long.
Monday 19 February 2007
On this program I talk with Barry Pateman, one of the editors of UC Press's edition of the Emma Goldman Papers, about the life and work of American novelist, poet, essayist and social critic Paul Goodman. This is part of our ongoing series on Great Dead Anarchists.
In the second half of the program I talk with David Lawler and Leland Pauley, editors of The Life Story of BillMeek, Stagecoach Stagecoach Driver. The editors will talks about the book and present autographed copies of the books for sale at the Community Room of the Madelyn Helling County Library at 3 and 6:30 PM on Friday 23 February.

Monday 5 March 2007
On this program I talk with Boston Globe columnist Alex Beam about the book he's working on about the Great Books Movement. This is part of an ongoing series in which I talk with Alex about his progress on the book. The first aired on 2 October 2006. The next will probably air in July. I had originally planned to talk with Alex for only 25 minutes, but he was so enthusiastic and so much to say that I asked him to keep going.
